About
Karen Hochheiser, M.S., LPC

My life and career path have been full of twists and turns, which has taught me about the strength and resilience that stems from uncertainty and change. Education & Work History
In 2009, I received a Master's of Arts in Higher Education from the University of Michigan and started my career in college student wellness as a Health Educator at Tulane University's wellness center. I transitioned to a role as a success coach on campus supporting students in meeting their academic, personal, and career goals. I became a certified coach in 2014, and since then, I have graduated from 3 coach training programs accredited by the International Coaching Federation.
In 2016, I pursued a Master's of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Loyola University New Orleans and shifted to work as a therapist. I began practicing in community mental health working with clients across the lifespan, but I remained passionate about working in higher education and returned to the university setting. I started as the counselor and coordinator of mental health outreach programs at University of New Orleans' counseling center and then transitioned to work as the behavioral health counselor on an interdisciplinary medical team at Tulane's campus health center. While beginning in private practice, I also had the honor of teaching master's level students as an adjunct professor in Loyola University's counseling department.
